Convicted 'sex offenders'must register with state law enforcement where they reside. Additionally, pursuant to theCampus Sex Crimes Prevention Act, enacted on October 28, 2000, placed in effect October 28, 2002, institutions of higher education must issue a statement advising the campus community where law enforcement agency information provided by a State concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained. It also requires sex offenders already required to register in a State to provide notice to police agencies of jurisdiction, as required under State law, of each institution of higher education in that State at which the person is employed, carries on a vocation, volunteers services or is a student. A list of convicted 'sex offenders' working at or attending Missouri S&T may be obtained by contacting the Missouri S&T Police Dept at 341-4300. A list of convicted 'sex offenders' residing in Phelps county is available from the Phelps County Sheriff's Office, 301 W. 2nd Street in Rolla, 364-1818.
